Black beauty, or Benny as he is called, is an Irish sport horse x SWB gelding who is 173 cm tall at the withers. Benny is an incredibly nice boy who is very curious, he likes to hang out in the stable loose and just chill while you do chores. He also prefers to be loose while you saddle, bridle, etc., as he can find it uncomfortable when he is tied up and can pull and tug a lot. But he stands very nicely loose while I brush and saddle him, so I see no reason not to have him loose. He is kept in a loose housing system, but during colder periods in winter, I keep him inside; he is very comfortable with both, but he can find it stressful if he doesn't get to be high in rank when he has friends in the paddock. He can find it a bit scary to go into the trailer but calmly walks out by himself when he realizes it is open. He was shod in front and behind but finds it boring to stand for long periods and can get a bit grumpy, so we chose to let him go barefoot completely and he is doing well with that without complications. He is very chill with the rest of the care! Three incredible gaits when you ride him correctly. He has competed at LB level in dressage a year ago with a co-rider but could absolutely go higher with the right training and discipline. He has jumped up to 130 courses a few times, but I have not wanted to compete and train over 120 now as I do not want to overload him too much. He can get a bit energetic and hot during jumping as he thinks it is fun, but it is important to use your voice and seat more than the reins! There is some historical injury, he has been to the vet a few times between inspections to ensure everything looks good, which it does. (More information about that upon serious interest) Last summer, he reacted to some kind of insect bite and swelled up on his right front leg, but it was easily treated and has not happened again since. He reacts strongly to hard hands and strong bits; he is currently ridden in a straight rubber bit which he is comfortable with, but during lighter sessions, a hackamore is used which works very well. The home is more important than the price, and with the right information, the price can be discussed. A fitted jumping saddle comes with him and a memory foam pad that must be used as long as the new owner does not have a better solution. He is being sold because I think he is a bit too talented for me, and considering that I currently have two other horses that suit me a bit better, I would like his potential to go to someone who will make the most of it!
